I must quote Joel 3:17 because the poor people of God will be given the Apocalypso with good stuffs and happy lives which are described on the end of the last chapter of Joel vs. 18 to 21. Apocalypse is the Second Coming of the Son of Man, the Lord Jesus Christ in red.

The meaning of locusts are not clearly given in the Holy Bible.
On Nahum 3 vs 17 describes locusts and grasshoppers who are great destroyers by night. Crickets are akin to them in USA. Crickets can be aka for Oriental warriors who defeated the Red Indians who defeated the Western armies at Alamo e.g. President Obama may want to conquer certain countries with the atomic bombs and his presidential kinsfolks informed me that they were utterly maimed at night with the warriors, crickets of USA, but with the whites of their eyes showing only in their uncontrollable angers.
Nahum 3:17 "Your commanders are like swarming locusts, And your captains like great grasshoppers, Which camp in the hedges on a cold day; But when the sun rises they flee away, And the place where they are is not known." The following last 2 verses definitely end the chapter on their deaths due to their wickedness aftermaths.
